Hi guys I'm busy placing my order for a rose granite chief
And I have the option of upgrading the dt Swiss m1900 to the m1700 version at a extra £130
Any advise on what the difference is between the two wheels are ?

You'd think so wouldn't you, but not even close!

Hubs get upgraded from Onyx 2-pawl to 350 star ratchet internals, which is worth having. They're 50g lighter, very slightly wider.

Would cost you a lot more than £130 to upgrade later, but the M1700s are still fairly narrow and not all that light. Budget depending I'd be inclined to take the M1900s and upgrade later to something much better - Hopes on Light Bicycle carbon rims or something.
  • Thanks for the reply ,
Am I mistaken in saying that the m1700 are wider than the m1900 ?
    I'm sure that's what I read somewhere ?

Yes, very very slightly. 19.6mm internal vs 19. Still narrow - a Crest is wider!

The 1900E is 30mm internal now.

It wasn’t 5 years ago though!
