Afan - last minute visit/trail advice please?

I had a brilliant time on Saturday. Parked up at Glyncorrwg Ponds to pick up my hire bike and within 30 mins was climbing out of the car park up the W2 route, awesome ascent. Glad it was dry though! I followed the W2 till I found the Wal, which took me to Afan park. Picked up the W2 again which took me back over the top, past the wind farm. I missed a turn at some stage as I ended up on the fire trails for quite a long time.
I eventually found The Blade and followed that back down to Glyncorrwg. Had a few ass twitching moments on that rocky DH section but I just let the bike roll and made it back in one piece.
Really impressed with the whole area and will defo go again. Perhaps visiting the in-laws isn't all that bad.“Training is like fighting with a gorilla. You don’t stop when you’re tired. You stop when the gorilla is tired.”0
