Right so I've been looking for a new hard tail with a budget up to £1000 and like the look of the Scott Scale 960 or Cube Ltd Pro. I've been round my LBS's and tried a couple of bikes out and really like the Scale 960. But then they went and complicated things...
They've got the Scale 950 2013 model on offer at £1200 which is near identical to the 2014 model at £1400 just without the new paint job and the usual annual upgrades. Is the £200 extra for 2013 950 worth it over a 2014 960. I think the Fox fork is a good step up for £200... but I'm conscious you can always look invitingly at the next step up...

The 2013 950 has better components, better brakes. Fairly sure the forks are a bit better also, and its lighter.
My advice is get the older one.0 -
Yeah that's the way I'm leaning. Hopefully going to check it out again later and this will probably seal the deal.
Just told my wife that VolatileMike says I should get the more expensive bike, imagine my stunned face when she said that if VolatileMike says to get I should get it...0
