Unfortunately, they didn't actually record the line I was on in that video because it wasn't fully built then. However, that section was the blue run and in the wet requires more skill and balls than the red run. The blue run is fairly easy going but has a couple of hairy sections if you let off the brakes and can be done quickly at full seatpost height. As long as tomorrow's weather stays well, I will record the run again and link it to this site.
My god road cycling is scary! I'm going to keep my relaxing rides to the trails where everything is green, fast and less crazy.

Most crashes are down to lack of speed

Start small, learn the balance point and how to bike behaves in the air
Go bigger when you feel you can but make sure you're 100% committed or you will crash

And generally you're better off going too fast than too slow

I believe that's what the late Paul Walker said.

A drop from a wooden ladder type construction which doesn't have a kick or send you upfrom the take off.

From what I've found out today, the second half of the blue run in the video has now been removed and is rejoined to a red/purple run there now  . If I knew that, I'd have put my seatpost waaaaay down and pedaled a fair bit faster.

When I was learning to jump I did that and hit my ass on the tire. I was far too low and back on the bike, you need to stay centered on the bike and lean back with the jump to keep your weight where it needs to be. When I say lean back I don't mean get back like you're going down a hill, I mean lean back with your upper body, as to follow the jump and keep your weight centered over the bike as it begins to move.
