Hi! I would like to study bike engineering (hobby wise) - design, geometry, frame compounds, gearing etc. I am looking for a book or a website that would help me to start it. Anybody ever seen anything like it? Thanks for any tips!

There are a few frame building courses.
Curtis bikes were doing a course where they help you build a custom frame to your own specs and they braze it for you.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
+1 for Sheldon Brown.
Bicycling Science by David Gordon Wilson is a good technical read - I think that's the book you want. http://bookshop.blackwell.co.uk/jsp/id/ ... 02627315460 -

Hate Pro E with a vengeance. But that comes from years of UG. work. (Pops called NX now).
But it really depends on what the OP is actually wanting to do. Most can be done with pencil and paper. Considering what would be used to make anything."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I quit my last job because I got so p1ssed off with Pro E. I can't believe they sell it for more than the cost of Solidworks or Inventor. It's terrible. Americans love it for some reason.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -

I used solidworks for 2 and half years in the middle of this 8 years and loved it and still get the updates but can only play on it.
