I will be staying in the Haut-Rhine, Alsace area of France and would appreciate suggestions for any MTB trails/centres within an approx 50 mile radius.

    Hey,
    living in Alsace, i am riding from time to time. Rule here is that there are no riding centers as you find in the UK ( I quite like glentress but too easy). This requires you buying a map and sort out your tours on own adapt as you go. It is a very good navigation exercise.
    otherwise you have a bikepark for downhill caled the lac blanc... but fairly limited. This might sound odd to you but the trail centers are limiting when you have in the Vosges region endless trails. Then recomending anything should depends on your level.
