Trek 6500 opinions please

Might be buying a trek 6500 with recon golds, It's a 2012 model and it's hardly been used.

I have struggled to find a review on line, it's got a good spec.
But was wondering if any body has actually ridden one?

It's a good xc bike if that is what you are after. I wouldn't pay 1000 quid for one, but you won't do much better for 290.

Decent enough when new but it all depends on the condition now.

Yeah similar, only with slx chainset at xt rear mech. I'll be popping some stans wheels on it with hope hubs.

I got a 2012 6300D a few weeks ago for £350 off of the bay - near identical in spec. Brilliant price, nice light frame thats great to chuck around.

Excellent price.

I've also got a 6300 from that year. Nice bike, change the stem to a 70mm and much better. Feels heavy to me, tho so maybe upgrade wheels if u can.
