I am searching ebay for some clothing (bib shorts/jersey) but not really sure what size to buy! Can anyone tell me generally how cycle clothing fits? currently i have an endura top size M which is far to short in length as im 6ft, and xl long sleeve top which is a loose fit and not really sure if is meant to be or not!
basically I want a tight fit jersey with obviously the correct length, im 6ft and 12.8 stone I would say longer body. i just want to try get it right first time rather than the hastle of sending stuff back!
Im not looking for someone to fit for me but a general idea of how cycle clothing fits, mostly team kits.

Thanks.

Like any item of clothing different makes size up differently. I am pretty much the same size as you and i have some jerseys that are a medium whilst others that are an XL.

Just from my experience and what fits me in terms of jerseys - I have a Medium Altura, a large Sugoi, a large Campag and an XL Santini. When wearing them they all fit me perfectly.

If you are looking on ebay at team kits from China im guessing the sizing will be all over the place and non comparable to the genuine team kits

Look for the sizing guides to clothes, if you go by them, it's hard to go wrong :)
I'm 6ft1 (and a bit) weigh about 75 kgs, I got kit from China last year and got size xl, bibshorts were perfect but the top was a size too long, keeping in mind my height is in my legs if that's any indication to you :)

    Hope this helps,

Italian brands (Castelli, Nalini) come up small, American (Pearl Izumi) brands are generally "normal" and not designed for dwarves.

Pearl Izumi is now owned (or marketed/distributed) by Shimano. Not sure where they started.
