chain rubbing front derailleur hanger

hi,
Probably this has been posted a thousands time before, but I am really stuck. My chain rubs my front derailleur hanger when the chain is in the two smallest cogs at the back. I have tried the limit screws, and front mech is 2mm above the largest chain ring and is parallel. What else can I do?
thanks,
G

Which chainring are you in when this rubbing occurs - large or small?WyndyMilla Massive Attack | Rourke 953 | Condor Italia 531 Pro | Boardman CX Pro | DT Swiss RR440 Tubeless Wheels

So you have a triple chainring then...? Sounds like the hanger is in the wrong place all the time so you need to start from scratch and with the basics.
Did someone mention park tool? http://www.parktool.com/blog/repair-hel ... djustments ;-)
One thing to check: with the chain in the smallest chainring and largest sprocket (so the chain is as close to the frame as possible) the FD hanger should just be clear of the inside of the chain, and the cable should be just taught.WyndyMilla Massive Attack | Rourke 953 | Condor Italia 531 Pro | Boardman CX Pro | DT Swiss RR440 Tubeless Wheels

You could always try unscrewing the barrel adjuster, which will pull the FD outwards. Then you can see where the sweet spot is between the outside of the cage rubbing, and the inside. With a triple, you might always get some rubbing so the trick is to adjust so there is minimal rub on the gears you least often use (typically the lowest and highest gears).WyndyMilla Massive Attack | Rourke 953 | Condor Italia 531 Pro | Boardman CX Pro | DT Swiss RR440 Tubeless Wheels
