Hi,

Last year I had some wheels built (name to remain withheld for now). They seemed fine, but there was a buzz from the front wheel. I put it down to the valve being loose in the rim, then to a loose headset, then to the bearings in the axle... But no. None of that. Quick release? No.

When I tap the wheel there's a buzzing rattle. Like all of the nipples are loose, but it that were the case the wheel would fold up wouldn't it? (though it is a bit flexy).

I'm at a loss and it's bugging the he'll out of me. Any ideas?
Wheel is novatech hub, stans alpha 400 (24h) with sapim x ray spokes.

I like to cultivate multiple options. Especially options which don't require posting the wheels halfway across the country to get them looked at.

    Any thoughts on the rattle?
  • Take it the spoke tensions are all correct? Front wheel narrows the options, rim doesn't have any cracks? , swarf from the drillings, eyelets tight?
