So I finally got round to trying the commute to my new job after nearly 6 months... tricky thing is that it's 45 miles each way, a bit much for me.
So I parked up at Kinross park & ride and followed NCN route 1 the whole way to the school gate in Dunfermline. Well, apart from the bit where I missed the signpost and wound up heading way closer to the centre of town than I should have done. Nice route, winding up through the Cleish hills with a high point of over 280m, although it was a bit hard to enjoy as it wasn't the best weather: 7°, heavy rain and a strong headwind (which is due to swing round by this afternoon :? )
Not to mention that a cold shower in a smelly changing room was hardly ideal.

Still, it's great to be back on the bike, even for 12 out of 45 miles. Next stage is to up the proportion of the journey I ride, for instance I could do a 30 mile section including hills like Path of Condie... well, a man can dream.
