I'm just starting a bike build and have got all my parts together except one major bit...the frame.

I've test ridden a number of bikes and whittled the selection down to these two, and I can't decide which I prefer. So let's have a second opinion; Cervelo R3 or the Giant Advanced?

  • I've had 2 R3's but the 2013 & 2014 frames just don't do it for me. Although I think they've actually added improved the latest frame with internal cabling etc.

Tough choice, the Cervélo has a band on front derailleur, the Giant a band-on, band-on is more 'chain catcher compatible,' don't know if that would influence your decision.

I'd incline towards the Cervélo, that's just personal preference :)

Either frame will do a top job :D

Neither. I'd be looking for mint s/h frames like a decent Look, Time, Colnago, or even just a s/h R5 VWD or TCR Advanced SL. Surely there are some good deals around on 2013 frames?
