Ok it’s not strictly a road bike more of a fast Hybrid. The only modifications I have done so far is to switch out the massively wide standard bars with some more traffic friendly 500mm FUNN flat bars plus the addition of the Gatorskin 28c (the original Kenda 38c are comfy but unbelievably heavy and draggy )
I have some Avid BB7 calipers and rotors on order so they will be bolted on – The Shimano stoppers on at the moment are a bit dull and come in at half a kilo each! The BB7 should take a good 200g off each wheel and by all accounts offer a much better feel plus tool free adjustment. I wanted to keep the levers so hence sticking with mechanical discs, for road use mechanicals are more than sufficient
That is all I plan to change, the rest is mostly entry level but still works faultlessly.
I use mainly for commuting and it will also be a touring bike, I still have my Cube Peloton for fast rides but this is no slouch and very comfortable, I am getting about 16 mph average on my 12 mile commute and that includes traffic lights – Yes I do actually stop at the lights.
Spec:
Alu 6061 triple butted frame with rack & Guard mounts
Alu 6061 fork with guard/rack mounts
Alex GP6000 700c Disc Wheels
Continental 700 x 28c Gatorskin tyres

Shimano Acera shifters (3 x 8)
Shimano Acera mechs
Shimano non series triple chainset
KMC 8 speed chain
FUNN Flat bar 500mm
Token Lock on Grips
Generic Saddle (soon to be Charge Spoon)
Soon to be fitted with full guards too.
WEIGHT: 11.9kgs (bathroom scales)

forgot to mention total cost inc bit on order is £450, which I think is great bang for buck especially compared to the offerings of specialised / trek etc.0
