Ksyrium Equipe

Riding a set of Ksyrium Equipes and was noticing an out of trueness when riding. Spinning the wheel off the ground there was no evidence of a buckle. Had a look at the spokes and there are a few on the NDS that have loosened off quite considerably- so much so that the nipple is free to move around in the nipple hole of the rim.

Is it o.k. to just re-tension the spokes and bring them up to tension again, or should I re-build with new spokes?

    Hmm - nipples seem to be seized?

    If you have some sort of spoke holder, you should be able to unseize them, but yes, nothing new there

    It just makes we wonder how they would have loosened if nipples are seized?

    I presume alloy nipples too - so I will also spray some WD40 or some such releasing agent around them to see if I can get them released.
