Front mech/chain
I've just got a new CX frame and the cable routing is over the top tube so I need a top pull front mech. I bought a CX70 top pull mech but they only come in 10 speed and I have a 9 speed set up. I can't seem to adjust it so I get much range without rubbing so is the 10 speed FD likely to be a thinner cage so not great with 9 speed chain.
If so what are my options, buy a 10 speed chain, would this work with 9 speed cassette or put my old bottom pull FD on and use the bolt on wheel thing that came with the frame. I thought this is a mud magnet for cross so decided on the top pull FD

I have exactly the same setup and find a 10 speed chain works better, even on a 9 speed setup. Front trimming is necessary but with the narrow chain you will find a spot where the chain doesn't rub. Shifting on the cassette is flawless, in fact better than with a 9 speed chainleft the forum March 20230
