Building this up for my 10yo daughter. She has no idea. Can't wait to get it done. Still need to sort bars, stem, cables and band on adaptor for front mech. Built with hand me down parts and a few cheap new ones.
Got the frame/forks from the classifieds here for 40 quid. Very happy with it. BB yet to be delivered. I'll do a final pic when it's all built.

Really nice she will love it. Agree about the bad weather at Christmas but I think my wife would take the the same line as you own unfortunately.

She will probably have outgrown it by christmas - get her on it now. No point in building her a bike and then preventing her from riding it for the next nine months. Looks like a good, well-considered build, so all the more reason....

That's exactly what I said to the Mrs yesterday. It'll be nearly 12 months by the time she can really ride it.

She got it today. She was SO excited. Straight in to her gear and off she's gone!

    Awesome bike.

Can I ask how she got on riding it? Reason for asking is I made a similar size bike for my 10yr lass for Christmas. Look on her face was worth it. But she is struggling with the strength to change gear reliably with STI's, they are shimmed to the shortest reach and is she is generally pretty sporty and not usually wimpy so I trust she is having a hard time.
I am reluctant to flat bar it as she really wanted a drop bar bike. Any tips gratefully received.

She and Campag record shifters which are brill for smaller hands, she loves it! She's already QOM on one local segment after 1hr of owning it!

He she is in her first night of racing on it.
This was the flying 200 for seeding purposes. She then went on on to a 5th then a 3rd in her scratch races. I love the look of effort and concentration on her face.
