Explain the logic of having 2 WT events running at the same time, each vying for publicity, coverage and best riders.

Makes no sense.

Competition isn't it ;), for who can make the best race.

In all seriousness, having them start one and then the other won't make a difference to the make up of the pelotons. No-one will do bothe back-to-back.

I don't get why everyone is so up in arms about it. Has been this way for years.
  • I'm with Rick on this one. Surely this was a bigger issue years ago, with a more crowded (rubbish) domestic calendar. at least now many teams can sent peeps to overlapping events.

  • It doesn't make a difference to riders, as no one would do them back to back, but in terms of TV coverage it would make it easier if they weren't on the same days

This. Given the lack of sponsorship in the sport it would make more sense for the highest profile events not to be diluted by each other.
