Hi all I require a new saddle limited budget I have narrowed it down to two charge spoon or a Madison flux or any other recommendations

Comments

  • They are fairly much the same saddle. The Flux been a bit softer than the spoon.

I find the Spoon more comfortable. The Flux has squarer edges.

So the spoon is more comfortable in your opinion

In mine yes, all my bikes have them, with a few stashed away in reserve. (except my old road bike which has a Selle San Marco Rolls - lovely but not for an MTB).

Yep, they are fine. They also have an Ebay shop.

    How about a xmassy one?

The most important thing is to measure yourself properly to get the right sized saddle. Check the suppliers websites.

Unreliable re stock. They have said they have something in when they did not: wasted my time waiting for item to arrive. In the end had to buy elsewhere

Also consider Specialized Body Geometry - different widths to suit your arris and cut out to stop your obvious going numb.

The Charge is comfy (well, in saddle terms, that is...) but doesn't wear that well. The surface is starting to wear off mine after about 4 months.

Seems to be a common thing amongst bike sellers. Had that happen on numerous occasions.

Had my Charge Spoon a couple of years now, still definitely the most comfortable saddle I've ever owned.

The only saddles which I seem to get on with are sdg falcon or fizik gobi and my absolute favourite the spesh toupe 143 (not for mtb mind) I personally think saddles are a personal thing, some people are lucky and get away with a charge spoon, others have to spend hundreds to find the right cushion for their aris

I have 2 spoons, great saddles, one is 4 years old and in near daily use, has a patina of wear (as Fiona would say) but not 'worn' as such at all.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

  • Charge scoop was a better fit than a spoon for me.
