Decent weekend for me, 3/6 predictions right, plenty of points, still in the lead and 360th Worldwide :D Not a classic race, but great to see Mercedes having such a good car!

Nice. I got up to 2nd from last in our league. I want to join another league to see how i get on but i dont think its possible without getting a password.

I bet you got the same ones right as i did.

    Lewis to win
    Lewis to get Pole
    Lewis to get fastest lap
    Rosberg second.

Ricciardo did just not have a great day today at all. Podium denied AGAIN by a factor completely out of his control. AGAIN. Then a front wing failure. Then as if that was not enough, a 10 place grid penalty for Bahrain. Poor fella. Seems like he has picked up where Webber left off with the bad luck.

Im so glad that Massa did not move over for Bottas. The whole reason why he left Ferrari was to stop being a number 2 driver.

I'm second in our league, you're fourth

I disagree. Everyone was expecting a much closer field, and a bit of a "mix up" but all we have got now is Mercedes doing a Redbull. Its boring to watch.

Well done to them and everything, but id prefer the rest of the field to be a bit closer. They should race with 3 wheels attached to the car in Bahrain to make it fair...

At least Hamilton and Rosberg aren't cnuts about it when it is going well.. I'm just glad I haven't seen Vettels smug little face on the top step yet!

Very much this! I think there's a lot more to come from Vettel this year, especially if experiences the bad luck that seems to be plaguing his team mates! No one can deny he's a lucky barstool, that runs gotta end soon!

Predictions made for Bahrain this weekend, changed little from the last race tbh, though with the emphasis on engine power than aero at Sakhir being more than the first two races and little chance of rain in quali I think we're going to see alot of mercedes powered cars doing well.

FFS they take forever to upload the scores and results!

This pretty much sums up my frustration and Ferraris season so far

Is fantasy F1 any less dull than real F1?
  • Just watched the highlights.. 2 things.

    1- great race
2- maldonardo needs to go. He's caused more serious crashes than anyone in the past 10 years!
  • Want to reword... crap race, great racing.

Probably the best racing i've seen in years on F1!
  • Its just a shame that its not a competetive field...

I think it's very competitive between the top 6 teams, excluding Mercedes (but they were allowed to race each other so it was still exciting). Seeing Force India well up there was really cool to see.

What a race!! Brilliant racing across the field, had no idea whether Hamilton or Rosberg was going to take the win or who was going to be third!! Great to see mercedes letting their guys fight it out, and massive respect to them for doing so, likewise Hamilton and Rosberg for going wheel to wheel lap after lap. Mercedes might be dominating but unlike Vettel and Schumacher where they had the best car and the whole team behind them, Mercedes are doing it fairly and giving their guys equal chance and that is what racing is all about.

This year could break Vettel, Ive said for years he's had easy with Webber as a team-mate and the whole team so clearly biased towards him, no he hasn't got the best car, a team-mate giving him a hard time and the team seemingly equal at this stage of the season, he's gonna throw his dummy out the pram before long I can tell!

Extended my lead at the top of the league, my choice of Mercedes only cars seems to be paying off!! :D

It was the best race I have seen in years in F1. Was great to see so many of them truly racing each other. Mercedes may have a clear lead for the season and unlikely to be challenged but the racing between each other was truly gripping stuff.

I hope it breaks Vettel, it's fun watching him contain his anger in interviews

    Those fake laughs/smiles he does.

The bit that made me happy was "Ricciardo is faster than you, let him through"...

I think that's the best thing about this season, sure one team is clearly dominant but like the colossal battles we saw between Senna and Prost you have absolutely no idea which of the two cars is going to win and that's what makes it so exciting. This race had it all, battles all over the place, great over taking, cars coming together, cars flipping over, safety cars, different tyre strategies, team orders (I howled when Vettel was told to move over for Ricciardo, brilliant stuff!!!). More of the same for the rest of the season please!

Shame to see team orders still prevalent at Infiniti RBR but it was worth it to see Ricciardo take the place over my least favourite driver on the grid.

That's the thing. Mercedes have said they're not doing team orders for the rest of the season now. It's going to be good if they stick to that.

That moment on the radio where Ricciardo asked to be let past and was was just brilliant

Vettel had it so easy with Webber it was unreal and that's not meant as disrespectful to Mark as he's a very good driver, but when you're well in your 30's and been in the game a long time, its incredibly difficult to stay fit, motivated and to be able to adapt as quickly as someone close to 10 years younger than you. Add into that you have the might of the entire team behind and it's easy to see why Mark left and how Vettel beat him. All you have to do is beat your team-mate and if you do that you're doing a decent job. When you have the fastest car, beating your team-mate makes you a world champion. No doubt Vettel is a solid driver but I think we're going to see this season that a) he isn't as good as he or everyone thinks and b) he owes his four championships to the team and Adrian Newey and not his driving.

Nice that the shake up in regs have stirred it up as well. Sure Mercedes have done a great job on the car/engine package, and the Mercedes engine is clearly the class of the field. It's taken away a lot of the importance of good aero performance and returned to a more engine based formula, which I think is great, it levels the field a bit and I'm sure we'll Red Bull being very competitive at the higher-downforce tracks like Barcelona and Hungary, yet by the same token we'll see the Mercedes powered cars doing well at tracks like Spa, Monza and Montreal, circuits that are all about power. In another year it'd be wide open, but when Mercedes have a car as good aerodynamically as the Red Bull and with the best engine, no sorry... "powertrain", then you have an incredible machine. At the end of the race for example, Hamilton and Rosberg were lapping 3 seconds a lap faster than the next fastest car...

I actually find the power units very interesting, the fact they use both waste heat from the turbo wastegate and kinectic energy from the rear axle under braking to feed batteries for an extra substantial power boost is fascinating.

Absolutely agree. These engines are producing (or at least the Merc is) more power than the old V8's somewhere between 50-100bhp more, yet are 35% more efficient... that is seriously impressive stuff. It certainly makes F1 more relevant to road cars which is a good thing imo, brings the sponsors in and keeps the sport going... If only Bernie wasn't still clinging on...
  • Aye the engines are impressive, even if they do sound like a swarm of bees!

Seems Pirelli have sorted the tyre issues too... just bring back re-fueling and we're back to proper F1!

Tell you what though, gutierrez's crash was brutal.
Just seen in addition to the ten-second stop/go penalty, Maldonardo has been issued with a five-place grid drop for the next race in China and has had three points put on his Super Licence.

Aye done mine, though I might tweak them a little given Alonso's pace in practise this morning.

Another win for Lewis Hamilton! :) Only watched the short highlights after I saw the result on facebook, but looks like he dominated from start to finish. Vettel told to move over for Ricciardo again, certainly loving his struggles this year!!

Another below par race for Kimi. The race was hampered for him in qualifying yesterday when his gearbox was playing up in Q2. :( Im very happy to see that Ferrari as a team has made a big step forward as a team though.

Vettel crying and being a c0ck as usual today. Magnussen and Williams let me down today on the fantasy league. Got 4 out of 6 predictions though. If Ricciardo beat Alonso i would have got 5/6. So close!

I watched some F1 program on sky last night and it had an ex-engineer from RBR. He says Mercedes are so dominant that
    1) they aren't really trying - yes they are lapping 1s faster than everyone, but they can easily lap 2s faster if pushed (as per the Dubai safety car).
    2) they have MORE upgrades that they aren't even fitting yet as there is no point.

Really liking Alonso more and more. I never liked him to start with (no reason) but when you realise just how well he drives, how much of a nice guy he seems and genuinely motivated to win in spite of an unfortunate setup at Ferrari (ok he moans a bit, but don't we all?). I think hiring Kimi may have been a mistake.

As for the rest of the season - I am a LH fan, but I am enjoying Rosberg having to fight through the pack rather than Mercedes 1-2 on the grid (NR seems to have trouble with his starts). Massa on the other hand went like a bat out of hell in China! Hope MacLaren can get their stuff together. Really want to see Button competitive again, but apparently their front wing setup is so bad they can't heat the tyres, so cant go fast, so can't heat the tyres. I think they will rely on a circuit with more turns to do anything spectacular.

Loving watching the battle for 3rd through to 10th, especially Ricciardo. Oddly no pundits are saying SV is a poor driver and it was all down to car. They are saying 'he's taking time to adapt' and that DR is used to a car which needs wrestling so can get the best out of it. I wonder how long it will take for SV NOT to lose 30s to his teammate....
