Hi All
On my sons Giant XTC Jnr 24" wheel the mech was quite bent when he inherited it off his sister, I straightened it the best I could and it's working some where near, my question is would his bike just take a ordinary mech or are they different on a 24" wheel?
It's a 7x3 speed and has Shimano Alivio mech on it now.

The same. Any 7/8/ or 9 speed Shimano mech will work. Just make sure it's the right fitting, either direct mount or on a hanger (looks like a hanger on the pic I looked at - if the mech is bent, it's likely the hanger is too.)I don't do smileys.

I will have a look, I do have a XT 7 speed rear mech in the shed, his bike will be better than mine at this rate
