Tempted by the fizik r3 shoes on offer at various places but unsure about sizing.
I take a 42 in both Northwave and Specialized, but go up a size in Sidi.
Anyone able to advise on size/width?

Beware - The R3s are built with a very high arch compared to other cycling shoes and unless you have the feet to match can be a very painful experience. My R3s felt fine when tried on in the store, but were agony after 30 minutes riding. Sold 'em on sharpish!

May the road rise up to meet you.

Search around the forum - a fair number of people snapped up the Fizik shoes from P-X last year when they originally went on offer and there were quite a few comments from those who had bought and those that were tempted to buy, with regards to sizing and fit.

I'm a 43 in Speciaized/Giro, the 42.5 R3 were a good fit for me. They seem to run quite large which is unusual for an Italian brand. As mentioned already I couldn't live with the high arch though.

    45 Giro
    45 SPecialized
    45.5 Old Sidi
    45 Sidi Wire
    44.5 Fizik

On the arch issue. I find mine AWFUL when standing still or walking. But cycling, sublime.
