Cropton forest

Myself, my wife and my (almost) 3 year old daughter are staying for a week in a log cabin in Cropton forest in the South of the North York Moors.

It's mentioned that bike hire is part of the available facilities, so I'm wondering about doing that for myself, but also getting the wife to have a go and perhaps an attached seat for our toddler.

Anyone know anything about cycling in the area? I've only ever ridden a hybrid or road bike so not familiar with such things!

Yes, I've camped in Cropton and ridden round the forest.

There are forest roads throughout the forest, from memory none too steep. I would have thought it's pretty spot on for a family ride round. I think from there you can ride right out into the moors should you fancy it.

Dalby is only 15 minutes drive away too for a change of scenery and something that could be much more technical should you wish to try it, but also has family-suitable riding.
