Cree Ebay Light Mount

Help needed please!!

I got a Cree headlamp style bike light off of Ebay from a relative at Christmas and have only just got round to fitting it. The mount it was supplied with is far too small to go round the handlebars on my bike. It is a bolt on mount and the light attaches with a slide mechanism. There is absolutely no way this mount will fit and I was wondering if anyone else had the same problem - i'm pretty sure it was here I saw the link for the light.

If anyone has what did they do, I have looked for universal ones but nothing suitable seems to exist. I can't even find just an O ring mount anywhere online for it. Annoyingly it didn't come with any details on model or anything so i cannot even go to the manufacturer to enquire about a new mount!

I am at work so cant provide pictures or anything as yet. It seems like a generic lamp so hoping someone out there knows where I can get a fitting replacement mount

  • Thanks for replying, I had looked at those but pretty sure even the extension is too thick for the mount - the mount really isn't fit for purpose at all!

I had a chinese cree light previously and the mount that came with that disintegrated after a couple of rides. I replaced it using a Twofish Lockblock. Held to the light with a couple of cable ties.Basically one of the velcro straps is long enough to go around a cree, but not long enough to get to the sticky bit, hence secure with cable ties. It then fits under the handlebars. You'd need the heavier duty lockblock. Try the site below. I can't send you a picture because the light packed in and I binned it.But if you got on and could not work it out, I could sketch it for you.It also offers a little bit of impact protection from bumps etc.
