bib shorts sizing

Hi,
I am looking to get a couple of pairs of decent bib shorts since there seem to be some decent deals online right now.
The issue I have is sizing. The only ok-quality (in my opinion) pair I have now are Decathlon's top range ones and a medium is spot on for me.
Does anyone have a pair of these decathlon ones, and also pairs of bibs from other makes, and so can comment on comparable sizing?
I am looking at:
Altura, Endura, Castelli, Giordana but I am happy to take suggestions.
I don't want anything in any pro kit design as I would feel a fraud wearing it!
Thanks,
Mazule

I'd say most manufatcurers will have sizing charts on their websites so you should be able to compare to the Decathlon brand. If you are going into shops im unsure if they will let you try on for size (even if you keep your undies on?). i've always just bought them mainly online and been fine but maybe i am luckyCube Cross 2016

I have Decathlon, Santini and Funkier bibs and they all size/fit differently, I have tried several different brands in store to find the right fit.0

I've bought Giordana, DHB, Campagnolo, Assos, Sportful and Sugoi shorts online using their respective sizing charts and a quick read of user reviews for info and have never gone far wrong. Most brands do sizing charts giving at least waist and hip guidance for each size and often inseam, height, weight guidance too. Different brands spec S, M, L, Xl, XXL etc differently and no-one's likely to be able to give you much useful info here except isolated anecdotes. For example I'm L in some brands, XL in others and some I haven't tried because they appear to be aimed specifically at skinnier riders than me!0

Thanks all,
Yeah I realise any advice will be anecdotal, however having recently bought some endura leg warmers based on their charts and found them so tight this morning I am nervous.
Perhaps I need to go to a shop and ask to try stuff on. I refuse to do that and then shop online though as this goes against my morals so will have to lump the higher prices I guess.0
