Finally finished my custom build De Rosa Milanino and took a few photos. Been on a few rides and delighted with how she performs (and looks).

It was my first bike build and I wrote a blog as I went. This is now complete too: www.milanino.me.uk.

    Very nicely done.
Also had a squint at your blog which is nicely put together. I think you have really chosen your parts well and built up a very nice bike. The attention to detail is great, matching up the red accents on the Centaur groupset to the frame and down to the dustcaps. All of that kit would work well on an even better frame should you ever feel you need it.

    Thanks for the kind words.

I'm delighted with the bike, it's a joy to ride. Putting it together myself has been a rewarding experience too. Highly recommended.

    Absolutely beautiful!

Of course I'm biased as I also have a Milanino, but with a lowely Veloce group set. The Centaur looks lovely. How are you finding it? I worried slightly about going back to an aluminium frame from carbon however for someone of my abilities there was very little noticeable difference.

    Enjoy!

Cheers mate. Seeing your bike on this forum helped inspire me to go with the Milanino so thanks :)

Well I don't have much to compare it to tbh. I had/have a B'Twin Triban 3 for a year before building this. Needless to say the step up feels HUGE. I don't know how much the bike weighs but I've picked up carbon bikes alongside mine recently and there isn't a lot of difference in all honesty. The wheels are great too, they feel like they will just spin indefinitely.

Just got back from a 25 miler in the sunshine and it's a real pleasure to ride. I'm definitely fitter than 12 months ago but getting up hills feels significantly easier than on my Triban 3 (which is now my commuter).

Looking forward to giving her the sportive debut on the Surrey Cyclone in 2 weeks :)

Lovely bike, i've been looking for a nice second hand one for a while, but not many of them become available!
