Hi
Am re-entering the MTB world after many years of absence and would be very grateful of some advice.
Have a Kona Coilair 2007 with Fox DHX 3.0.
Have the opportunity to fit a 2009 Fox RP23 to it ?
Is this a good or bad idea?
Can't fathom out which is best?
Will be trail riding and want a good pro-pedal for climbs.
Thanks in advance

define better?
how much is the 2009 RP23 going to cost and is it in the right tune for your bike, will it need a service?0 -
Very different shocks. For downhill I would prefer the DHX for everything else I would prefer the RP23 as long as it's the right tune.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

I ran an RP2 on a 2006 coiler back in the day and it worked well even down Fort Bill, and took away alot of the pedal bob so an RP23 would only be better. For trail riding the rp23 would save you some weight, but I'd be inclined to keep the DHX 3.0 - you may need to get the RP23 re tuned to your frame in terms of compression etc.coiler - http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/1463278/

Thanks Guys.
Ekk. Didn't realise would need to be re-tuned for the bike. Presumed shocks has standard set up.
Was given RP23 by a friend that upgraded his - DHX 3.0 currently on the Coilair.
Is there any useful guides out there for all this, I need to catch up.
Want for bike for trail riding, definitely do not like pedal-bob on up hill slogs - like to once to downhill once to the top, but ain't as crazy as I used to be !0
