Garmin cadence with GPS speed

The speed sensor on my gsc10 has packed up, under a year old so should get warranty replacement but in the meantime does anyone know of anyway to set my edge 500 to get cadence from the gsc 10 but speed and distance from GPS.

    When my first garmin sensor packed up it automatically picked up speed from gps, & carried on displaying cadence from the sensor.

    Anyway, if that isn't happening try this (what Garmin advised whilst I waited for a warranty replacement)
    Go into settings, then bike settings, select the relevant bike (if you have more than one set up), then select ant+ spd/cad.
    Then sensor details, & select cadence sensor.
    It should then pick up cadence from the sensor & speed from gps.

    If that fails to work, try taking off the wheel magnet & then it should also revert to picking up speed via gps.
