Giant Defy Composite 2014

I've made the decision to purchase a new Giant Defy Composite.
Model of choice is the Composite 2 however at a push I could afford the Composite 1 but am not sure if it really worth having Ultegra on a frame of this quality. It will be a good bike but does it warrant the better groupset as other items like wheels are still the same.
Or to I go with the old rule of "if you can afford it then get the more expensive bike regardless"
Any thoughts.

Get the Composite 1, the 6800 is supposed to be an excellent group set.
Or spend a bit more and get the 105 equipped Advanced 2 with the better frame and components.0
