2013 Revelation forks

Ordered a set of 2013 revelation rl's from merlin last weekend, came home to them today and I'm a little confused, I thought that only the 2014 forks had black stanchions but here's mine

Is there anyway of finding out if they are 2013 or 14?

Also I plan to drop the travel to 140mm using the travel spacers until I read that they weren't compatible with 2013 onwards forks and that a new shorter spring assembly was needed. Can anyone confirm this.

Lastly any idea what these are?

They look like travel adjust spacers.

That's what I thought but I got told that they can't be fitted on the new solo air forks, getting them has confused me

Looks like an early 2013 with some older parts. Hard to say as is a lot of OE stuff out there.

Pretty certain the fork is OE, did the 2013 forks have black stanchions though, thought they were new for this year?

Is there any way of telling if the spacers can be fitted or would it be easier to get the new spring assembly?

Well after a night of research it looks like I got a set of 2014 forks, along with the black stanchions, they've also got the rapid recovery rebound adjustment that was a new feature for the latest model, pretty happy with the £279 they cost.
