105/Ultegra shifter with SRAM Rival Rear Mech

Evening all
During a gnarly turbo session my right SRAM Rival shifter stopped working (doubletap results in nothing other than to slacken the cable). I plan to dismantle it and have a look but doubt it will be salvageable.
Looking at new ones <cough> - too much ££ - so wondered if I could fit 10 speed 105 or Ultegra shifters on the bike to work with SRAM Rival mechs.
Sorry if this has been covered before - I've searched and given up.
Thanks

Pretty sure pull ratio is different and it won't work. Unfortunately it's a common failure so bargains on SRAM shifters are hard to come by.
New groupset?0 -
Nooo............
Thanks Major....0 -
Rear shifter pull is certainly different, but front shifter is the same I think ?
So you would be talking shifters and rear mech only, front mech too at worst, but chainset, cassette, brakes, etc will work either way, so not a full new groupo...0 -
I was more suggesting it's a good excuse for a new one. Ultegra is such good value...0

I tried 105 5700 front mech and SRAM shifters and it wouldn't work - from extensive web searching it seems rear mechs have never been interchangeable but front mechs pre latest incarnations of Shimano were but they changes the pull ratio from 57000 era onwards and now neither are. APEX would work for less money than RIVAL and I'm not sure it makes any diff below FORCE level which.0
