Boardman MTB team advice

Hi everyone,
I'm relatively new to mountain biking and am looking for a bit of advice! I can get a 2012 Boardman MTB team new for about £490. Before I found this offer I was going to get a Voodoo Hoodoo for £410. I've recently been riding on blue singletrack with the hopes to be able to get used to red tracks. I was all set on getting the Boardman team as it seems to be a better bike, but then wondered if the lighter frame would be more suited to XC rather than singletrack with a lot of bumps, small drops etc. The last thing I want to do is wreck the frame by riding on the wrong terrain!
Would the MTB team be fine on red and blue singletrack or would something like the voodoo hoodoo be better suited for it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The Boardman will be great on it. And capable of much, much more. It is a fantastic bike for the money.
Is it a new bike or second hand.0 -
I think singletrack and XC is pretty much the same thing - it is to me at least.I don't do smileys.
