Opening links on Bikeradar

Hi,
just wondering if there is a reason why clicking links re-direct the current window rather than opening up a new tab? I assume it is a setting on the bikeradar site as I don't get this on any other sites. It's a pain when you click a link and then get navigated away from the forums. I often close the link page out of habit and then I've lost my bikeradar page. Opening a fresh tab for links would be much better for the user, and it would keep traffic on your site at the same time by not navigating them away from your site.
