This is on Saturday, good practice for the Belgian classics.
And participants supposedly include

SAGAN Peter
VALVERDE Alejandro
CANCELLARA Fabian
CAVENDISH Mark
VAN AVERMAET Greg
KREUZIGER Roman
EVANS Cadel
URAN Rigoberto
SáNCHEZ Samuel
ROCHE Nicolas
POZZATO Filippo
DUMOULIN Tom
NIEMIEC Przemyslaw
ZOIDL Riccardo
CARUSO Giampaolo

Apparently there’s a question mark about Van Avermaet, who may do Paris-Nice instead.
Also unclear if MOSER Moreno, last year's winner, will be there.
Answers, however, where Cancellara will be, for those intensely following the Where’s Fäbu thread.
Cavendish taking part in accordance with his dietary plan.

I used to be able to see San Gimignano from my house *wail*
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

Unfortunately (for fans at least) it's going to be dry all this week after today so more likely to be a dust fest than a mud fest

Love the area - have stayed a couple of times in the area, once nr Volterra and once a bit further towards Pisa, in a little hill-top hamlet called Sughera.
If I want to sheer myself up with Google streetmap I use the street view to move around Sughera - the Google car was there on a beautiful sunny day.
Also did a fondo that started in Volterra and Taffi was the guest pro that day.

They have made the race longer, but there are less kms of sterrato than in previous years.
Not sure what they are aiming to do with the race's identity.
Maybe they see it as the way to get the race promoted from 1.1
I would have said that sterrato, rather than extra kms would be better to sell the race.

Moreno Moser was on the startlist I saw.

I fancy Luke Rowe to do a decent ride.

Stannard the big engine is there so something could be on.

I don't like that the finish is almost as soon as they get into the square. They should do a lap like the Palio

I like the wham bam thank you ma'am nature of it. Hit the rise, narrow road, turn right, done. Everyone just freaks out trying to get to the front. chaos. laps would take that away.

Nope. That final 15% climb at the end is not Stan-friendly.

Reckon Sky will ride for Cataldo.
