Recon Race problem?

Hello,
I have a 2010 Rockshox Recon Race on my new-to-me bike - apparently bought one year ago from a BS. I've looked up the psi settings for my weight at set the fork to 100 psi with 25% sag. The problem I'm having is that I'm using 90% of the travel just cycling on the road and going over speedbumps, there also is ridiculous pedal bob resulting in the fork going through 60% of its travel. The fork also doesn't seem to rebound properly when cycling.
Is there anything I should check that as I'm positive that it isn't behaving properly haha!
Thanks guys,
Cookeh

Ignore the settings, set air to give correct sag. Go from there.0

I have done, poor syntax on my part.Im running 100psi which gives the 25% sag I want.0 -
Reduce the rebound settings."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Buggered solo air spring. Service and replace washers/o rings.0

Fork service is not difficult. My dual air Sid was leaking via negative chamber. I followed Srams instructions obtained the seal kit and sorted in about an hour. ( far cheaper than any tuning company) cost about £30.00 with new oil and bits.link to documents http://www.sram.com/service/rockshox/7,104
These tech docs will give you part numbers. Personally I would not follow generic you tube clips .
Sending forks away for service will be near er £ 100.000 -
How on earth does one knacker the Solo Air spring on a claimed "three" rides, or even in a year??
Can't seem to find a manual for the Recon Race either, unless one of the models 327, 335, 351, XC are the Race.0 -
'Apparently' and 'claimed' might be clues.I don't do smileys.

But unlike you I don't have any wit to resort to, so I can only be offensive Could you be decidedly more helpful and offer some insight as to whether or not the Recon Race matches any of the 335, 351, etc above?0

AFAIK the only difference between the std Recon and the Race is an aluminium steerer, so any Recon Solo Air manual should do the job.
Either 2010

Cheers dude, appreciated. Question, is it actually as a simple a process as it looks or is it far more sensitive?0

The air spring is pretty simple. What happens is that the wavy washer/valve doesn't shut properly. You press on the forks hard and it all goes into the negative spring, so the fork just dives. Then it requalises.
Is rare, but sounds like is the problem.0 -
Would that also explain why upon connecting a shock pump the gauge doesn't show the pressure? That does indeed sound like the problem - could there be any other causes?0
