a few covert builds up at the moment, so thought I would throw mine up there too.

got a 2012 frame a couple of weeks ago, had the choice between a mint 2012 frame, or a ex demo, well used 2013 frame, decided on the 2012 as it is like new and had very little use, a few hours and less than 1 year old. spec is taking a bit of deciding, I was going to go the whole hog with sram xo1, decided against it, too much money for not enough gain for me. so heres the proposed spec.

covert 2012 150mm.
fox rp23 kashima adaptive logic.
rockshox pike rct3 160mm.
Shaman xt shadow+ rear mech
Shaman xt shifter
Shaman Xt crank with raceface narrow wide 32T
shimano xt cassette
shimano xt brakes with 203&180 icetech rotors
superstar delta pedals
renthal fatbar 780mmx20mm
renthal duo stem 50mm
renthal Kevlar grips
stans flow ex on hope pro2 hubs
Schwalbe Hans dampf 2.35 trailstar & pacestar
rockshox reverb & charge spoon.

heres a few poor pictures.

I never said whether I was or was not loaded, I said I was building it as I earned it, ie spare money after bills are paid

not updated much recently, cannot be bothered, but got a load of parts and set about building it up today, not many pics as I was cracking on.

im on borrowed wheels until I can sort some out,so excuse the purple hubs and shitty tires :D ill have flows on black hope hubs.

only had a short ride down the local trans pennine trail to the little quarry, really impressed by it.

Get blue hubs... Black is a bit boring... I like the pedals a lot

    Cheers guys.

Not going blue as I don't want too much blue, plus the hope blue is quite a bit different, would just look odd imo, black is understated and just works with black cranks, rear mech brakes etc.

Been sessioning a mix of stuff, trail riding, and my local dh track and settled on suspension set up, one token in the pikes, and the medium volume spacers in the rear, 2 tokens in the pikes made it pretty harsh to ride, one rides real nice and hut ramps up nicely as you approach 80% full travel, I may try the larger spacers in rear, as u am still using full travel on 4ft drops but don't want to end up a harsh ride like the front

Why not gunsmoke hubs pal?? They'd work well... :)

I agree with your comment on the Pikes

Unless the rider is very light at least 1 token is needed
I'm running 1 token with about 25% sag and it seems about right, using about 150mm of travel on 5ft step downs so I should have a stiff final 10mm to save me on anything bigger or me landing nose heavy on anything

But with 2 tokens I think I'd loose some of the medium bump sensitivity that makes the pike worth it's price!

As for the hubs.. I'd get something completely different.. I kinda like the purple but I'd get red and stick on a few other minor red parts (Grips, pedals.. ) but that's just me

Lovely bike though, I actually think the 2012-13 Coverts look nicer than my 2014 one.. I just wanted the changed Geo + 650b ;)

The pikes for me now are perfect with one token, 2 tokens I lost near all small/mid sensitivity swapped it back to one straight away.

I thought about going red initially, with the stans rim decals being red it might work, but not sure.

I prefer the 2012 colour, but the 2014 shock and linkage looks better imo, just couldn't stretch to a 2014 frame.

Been umming and arring for a couple of weeks now, as to whether to sell and get a downhill bike, and have decided its time to change owners, be sad to see her go, but a 2013 gambler with kashima 40's, enve bars and everything saint is doing it for now.

    Check it out guys. http://m.pinkbike.com/buysell/1593337/
