Chain rings

Hi all
So I need to replace my middle and outer chain rings on my Race Face ride crankset. They came as standard on my bike.
My LBS recommend I don't go for the £15 Shimano ones they had in stock but Blackspire ones at about £40. Whilst that might sound like cynical up-selling, they're only a small shop so don't have a huge range. Replacement Race Face ones seem to be similarly priced as the black spire ones.
However, £80 is over half the price of a discounted SLX or XT crankset.

Are blackspire/race face ones any good?
I'm tempted to just buy a discounted new crankset (Shimano or any other recommendations) or just buy the £15 ones and see how I get on.

I like cheap shimano rings. They last a lot longer than more expensive aluminium rings and I don't notice the extra weight.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350
