Haven't seen a thread for this, route was announced last week
10 mile city circuit with cobbles
http://richmond2015.com/about/courses/road-circuit/
All road races will take place on a challenging, technical and inner-city road circuit.
The peloton heads west from Downtown Richmond, working their way onto Monument Avenue, a paver-lined, historic boulevard that’s been named one of the “10 Great Streets in America.” Racers will take a 180-degree turn at the Jefferson Davis monument and then maneuver through the Uptown district and Virginia Commonwealth University.
Halfway through the circuit, the race heads down the cobblestones of Shockoe Slip before following the canal and passing Great Shiplock Park, the start of the Virginia Capital Trail. A sharp, off-camber turn at Rocketts Landing brings the riders to the narrow, twisty, cobbled 250-meter climb up to Libby Hill Park in the historic Church Hill neighborhood.
A quick decent, followed by three hard turns leads to a 110-meter-long climb up 23rd Street. Once atop this steep (20% max grade), partially cobbled hill, riders descend into Shockoe Bottom. This leads them to the final 350-meter-long climb up Governor Street. At the top, riders face a 680-meter false flat to the finish.

the US collegiate champs were on the course this year
Juding by the rider videos the course doesnt look selective at all, the cobbled climb was a lot shorter and shallower than i was expecting it to be. Its the sort of course that i'd like to race on - thats a bad sign for a world champs course!0 -
It's not Richmond in Yorkshire either.0

Just get Essex county council to look after the road for a winter and by the time they race on it the surface will make the Arenberg trench look like a billiard table, then you will have your proper cobbles!0

Yeah I'm hoping for a 4 way shoot out between Kwia, Gallopin, Sagan, and Thomas.0 -

Phinney will do everything to win this one and the TT. Doubt he has it in him.
I just haven't warmed to Van Marcke.
From peoples comments seems like this will be a reduced bunch sprint.0 -
Christ a typical USA town circuit, so how low will the UCI go for the money.
A German win with either Kittel or Degenkolb
By the By that Richmond is Virginia on Eastern Standard Time some three hours earlier than California or five hours later than Greenwich.
So a 5pm finish would be 10pm UK or 11pm across the Channel.Organiser, National Championship 50 mile Time Trial 19720 -
The road route looks nothing to get excited about. The TT route seems hilly - 2000ft in 33 miles?0

Kittel won't win a race with a hill like that in a million years0

Here is a video of the course https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D14UhutvImw
The first time up the hill is about 6 minutes in. Takes the college riders about 40-50 seconds to climb it so i dont see Kittel or Cavendish having many problems.0
