Old School Bottom Bracket
Hi, I am currently fixing up and old 70's Carlton road bike; the bottom bracket cups are badly worn with chrome chipping etc so I was planning to change to a modern sealed bottom bracket, however, I don't seem to be able to find a modern bottom bracket of the right size (68 x 126 square taper)...
Is this size now obsolete?
My other option was to replace the cups and bearing but again, struggling to find any. Planning to visit LBS tomorrow (internet only so far) but any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks, in anticipation of the replies.

Probably worth searching through these as well to see if any fit the bill (but 1mm out may be close enough for all but a perfectionist)

You could always change the chainset to a new square taper that will take a more commonly available BB axle length.0

Yeah, that was my other thought, was wanting to use the original chainset (it's and old SR chainset which looks nice and original) but it's probably a bit worn so maybe that's a better idea...0
