Advice for a friend please chaps!

He's entered a 3800m climbing Alpine Gran Fondo this summer.

Non bike rider of average fitness but VERY determined character.

Possible or....... impossible????

Quite possible i'd say. I've had over 4 months off injured and havent ridden a bike since end Sept last year until this week. I have a LEJOG in 12 weeks time and then a 1,250mile, 117,000ft of climbing, 71 cols ride to do in 6 months time. I WILL be fit so think he'd be fine. Most alpine climbs arent steep - just lllllllooooooooonnnnnnnnggggggg ;)

If he's fit enough, has the right gearing and won't miss time checks etc he should be fine.
He can take his time, keep fuelled and stop if he needs to.
