The avian kind, not the laydeez, I hasten to add...

Have nearly been decapitated by a low-flying red kite and at least one deeply-suicidal pheasant in recent incidents. I'm going to write to my MP. Something should be done.

It's just a hill. Get over it.

I nearly had a pheasant in the spokes this morning - gave me a bit of a fright - probably amused the bus driver behind me though ... :)

Are you absolutely sure that your cycling attire is properly visible to avians, or do they find you strangely attractive in some way?

We used to have a psycho pheasant that came into our garden when we were kids. It would wait until you turned your back and then do a ninja flying claws attack on you. When you turned round it would just act as if nothing happened. Cheeky bastard.

Think it picked on a car one time and that was that.

Another blummin pheasant this evening ... didn't help that it was 1/2way down a descent and I had a 4x4 coming up behind me. 3rd shout had it in the air ...
Could I perhaps load a CO2 pump with a frozen pea and aim it in the birds direction - or is that shooting?

Better just make sure there's no evidence left then ...

How much would a butcher give you for a slightly mangled pheasant?

Or a decapitated red kite, for that matter?

  • I rode into a rat by Victoria park in London yesterday on my way home, it was like riding over a sleeping policeman.

Of course a rat isn't really a bird as such, more a pigeon without wings

Did you kill it? If not, you should have gone back and had another go.
