Wow, that is one nice bike, and very, very light!

I'm over 60 and have a couple of Cannondales, CAAD10 and Synapse. Having back problems , did you give the Synapse any thought?

My first Cannondale was a T700, I sold that when my back first went and the specialist said I would`nt be able to cycle again
A year later I built a Synapse and my son still has it
I went to the States and whilst I was in San Fransisco I found the New Evo Frame in a garage sale so it came back in a cardboard box as hand luggage and thats where the light build started
To me the Evo is a much better ride than the Synapse but I think most of that comes from the Extralite wheels which I cant praise enough

  • Nice bike!
I must say though that I am not the biggest fan of the aesthetic of lighting cranks but I hear they are very good.
I would be interested to know how you find them them? Are they lighter than the record cranks?

The Lightning cranks are the four arm for a MTB and when fitted with a triple spider and 50/40/28 rings I think the weight was around 600g but I cant find the paper work
I would have used a Campag Record if there was a triple, there are plenty of debates on compact/triples but at my age (a young 68) a triple is a must with the hill I like to ride
I cant fault the Lightning crank in use and its so easy to adjust
