Coil Shock Mounting Issue

Morning all
Was removing the Reverb last night to send it off to TF for a service. The hose is routed underneath the top tube, so the shock has to be unbolted to get the hose out. While i had the shock unbolted , i decided to remove it to give it a bit of a clean up.
Upon removing it, it would seem that the lower mounting pin is no longer sat equally in the bushing. The shock body appears to have moved around 1mm or so to the right, so there is more mounting pin on the left than on the right. When you fit the spacers over the pin, there is a bit protruding out of the left hand side, and the ends of the pin don't sit flush with the ends of the spacers. The rubber spacer on the right hand side was no longer sat under the edge of the spacer, but was wrapped around the base, so the spacer is now flush with the mounting pin, but only cause the rubber spacer has been forced out of the way.
The top mounting pin looks a bit offset as well, but not as much as the lower
To get the shock back on, I've had to leave the right hand side rubber washer off.
I have no idea when or how this happened. The bike has been working fine, with no discernible effect on performance. I rode it for over 2 hours on Sunday at Gisburn and it felt fine.
Any ideas on what has done this ?
I guess a knock to the shock is the most obvious cause, but i haven't crashed the bike hard enough to cause that sort of force to the shock, and besides, if the shock had been struck that hard i would expect some damage to the spring, and there isn't any.
Bushings are solid with zero play, so its not like they are worn and the pin has moved because of that
What are the implications of my riding with it like this ?
Cheers

might be normal but....."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

if the mounting hardware has moved a bit that easily then your bushes are probably shot. to reset the mount all you do is put the washers on the mount and use a vice to gently centre the shock.0
