Best forks for a p7

Hi - my rockshox recon 351 have died (according to my lbs) and so I am after some replacement forks. I want them to be fun, borderline silly - I have just converted it to singlke speed and plan to use it for jibbing around steps etc and offroad. Good to be able to lock out if possible, but not essential. Any advice? Not sure on budget, but plan to to cycle to work scheme to get a cx bike, so I imagine £800 on the bike, £200 on forks? Or any advice on this also appreciated ! Many thanks!

Do you mean CX bike (cyclocross) or actually XC bike (cross country)?
Why not just buy a bike with decent forks in the first place?0 -
I take it he means a CX bike plus a set of forks for the MTB totalling £1k on the scheme.I don't do smileys.

Based on his thread in buying advice I'm not sure he knows what he wants at all.0

Of course I know what I want !?
I'm after a 1) a CX bike and 2) a separate set of forks for my P7 totalling £1k. any helpful advise welcome. Many thanks.0 -
What axle type, steerer type and travel do you require for the forks? A photo of the fork would help if not sure.0

Current forks are rockshox recon 351s. If it needs more info than this don't worry, I'll go and speak with my lbs.0

Needs a lot more info as there are several versions of that fork. And the LBS won't be able to help unless you take the bike in.0

Get a 140mm coil fork.
That is what the p7 is designed around....take your pickelf on your holibobs....
jeez :roll:0 -
I'll take it in to the lbs. I had imagined the p7 would have a standard fit, but it seems not? thanks.0

There are many versions of the P7 - really could be anything. Depends on year, and even then, Orange did custom specs.0
