Recently bought a new tcr advanced and i want a shorter stem, but im struggling to find anything other than the giant overdrive ones.

I see fsa have one for over £200 which is too expensive, was looking at this richey, but its listed as being a mountain bike one http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Ritchey-WCS-4-Axis-44-Stem-1-1-4_65988.htm?utm_source=Google&utm_medium=AdwordsProductAds&utm_campaign=Adwords&gclid=CPjBo4bT5bwCFWfLtAodU0MAWw would that be ok for a road bike?

Can anybody point a few more out?

FSA definitely do some cheaper ones. I got one (new) from an ebay shop recently for £11.50.

And there's no such thing as a mtb only stem - if the diameters are correct, it will work. Although some stems don't have flippable logos.

In fact, here you go: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FSA-OS-120-Al ... 2335e69178
  • ok thanks for the link, i was after something around the £50-£100 mark though, if that richey one fits i'll just get that, but when i spoke to a bike shop earlier they didnt think it would, but like you say the diameters are correct so i dont see why not
  • Ritchey make them in 1" 1/4. I have a WCS one on my TCR Advanced SL.

Syntace have them too, or at least used to.

Specialized do a 1.25 stem with shims to adjust the angle, which you can remove to leave just a 1.25 stem.
