Hi all

I'm about to buy a Planet X Kaffenback 2 however it comes with the choice of three sets of wheels - I have no knowledge / experience of the disc specific wheels available so I was hoping to tap into all your superb knowledge!

The choices are:

Mach1 820 rims on Deore M525 29er wheelset (come as standard equipment)
On-One Reet'ard Trail Wheelset 29 inch (£75 extra)
Selcof WHT29 Tubeless MTB Wheelset (£50 extra)

I think the Selcof wheels look the nicest!!!

Thanks for any advice in advance :D

Don't know about the other two, but the Mach one are awful.
  • Probably best to buy as standard, then upgrade later :)

Wouldn't that be more expensive?! For example I can have the Selcof wheels for an extra £50 but I wouldn't be able to buy a new set of wheels for £50!
  • I don't know if MTBers are the same as roadies but I have a set of training wheels (cheap) and a set of race/summer wheels (expensive). Just means I save the nice wheels for nice days and races. Depends what you're doing tho.
