Man buying bike for woman
Hi guys, I've been mtb'ing for a while now and my girlfriend has decided she wants to join me, I told her I'd find a bike for her which is harder than I expected. she is 5' so not the tallest so have been looking at frames between 13" and 15". The type of riding we will most likely be doing is bridleway, fire road stuff with abit of xc/single track. Whittled the options down to 2; http://www.evanscycles.com/products/tre ... e-ec054503 and http://www.wiggle.co.uk/felt-womens-krystal-70-2014/. The components are much and such the same but the trek will have more stand over room???

What's your budget? Some of the cannondales come in petite sized.

don't think she wants to spend over 550 on the bike really. then obviously gear on top of that. The main thing I really want her to have is disks. cheers0

Around the £500, IMHO, you would be better off looking for a used bike, plenty of great deals out there.
Also, a small mans frame would be fine.
Just some advise, make sure you get the right colour!0 -
+1 for a Cannondale, my wife is about 5'3" and has a 15" Trail SL2 and it is perfect for her height, she actually prefers the mens frame.0

My wife bought a Trek Mynx SL in the sales after a test ride. She liked the way it rode and also that there was plenty of stand over height. The Trek women's mountain bikes have been getting good reviews recently.0
