I'm looking at a second had set of Dura Ace wheels and on both wheels there are small dimples as if something as been pressed into the rim (possibly a small stone). What kind of effect will these have on the braking performance of the rim and is it something to worry about or avoid.

Its a rim-wear indicator - the braking surface is worn out when you can't see the dimple.
