Need advice on my first MTB

Hi guys,
I'm looking to get myself my first mountain bike to try out some trails with a few friends, but I'm not really sure what I need.
I've seen these two at Halfords but I'm not sure which is best for the money:

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165499
I'm 6'1 and I've been told a 22" frame (or 20" if 22" isn't available) would be suitable, is that right?
Any help would be much appreciated.

This is much better. Fork is a step up.
As for size - sit on one.

Voodoo is a good option, cant knock them for price but if you can get to a go outdoors have a look at this http://m.gooutdoors.co.uk/calibre-two-t ... ke-p275612
hydraulic breaks, rock shox and deore for this price is a steel. Its been getting cracking reviews from the magazines and a few forum members rate the bike too.0 -

I'm a bit bigger at 6ft2 and only ride a large (19"), best thing you can do is try before you buy. As above second hand would be a good bet, something like a Rockrider or Baordman would do you well.Commencal Ramones Cromo 13 - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=129269380
