Hope headset threaded taper

Hi

Had to take my headset apart the other day to do my forks. Now the centre screw won't do up in the threaded taper. really perplexed by this one, its not threaded and I can't see anything wrong with it.

    What screw in what threaded taper?

    Pics I think!
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

    So why did you undo the Head doc?

    Once fitted it stays there.

    Time to fish all the bits out of your steerer or if they have fallen out of the bottom of the steerer find them under the fridge.

    Then reassemble it and re fit it and then put your bike back together.

    Or just bin it and fit a Starflanged nut and never have this problem again.

    I have fished all the bits out and now I'm struggling to re assemble.
