Cable outer anti-cable rub protection things

I'm just reaching the final stages of building up my new bike and I'm looking at frame protection.
I like the look of these things that slip over the cables to prevent cable rub (as an alternative to heli tape) and wondered if anyone uses things like them and if they actually work, because it's still rubbing against naked paint.

Just heli tape everything. It's time consuming but worth itRed bikes are the fastest.0

So you thing that some thing that sticks onto some thing that moves with protect your frame?
They will still move and rub on your frame.
Helitape on your frame will stop any thing rubbing on your frame."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I tried those tube tops and they don't stay put on the outer very well, they are softer than the outer though so would be less abrasive on the frame but heli tape is the solution.0
